Garcia Family Room / Play Room
Note: We will be finishing this room mostly ourselves, but might need help with things like gallery wall of family photos behind couch. For most part, sharing so you can see ideas behind a prominent space in house.
Should have two zones: media zone and play zone. Play zone to include a (removable/interchangeable) swing, which requires a six-foot diameter clearance area. (This will also ensure ample space for playing on floor when swing isn't there.) This may mean running the wiring for cable (if we need it?) further down the wall, closer to the window. I want to be aware of problems of glare, but I really don't like where the presumed location of the TV is in that room and don't think it works for a dual-use space like we need.
Although I love the look of round art table, I don't think it is feasible because Luca's primary interests are building very large structures (much larger than a child's table) and movement (i.e., the swing, bouncing toy, etc.). Instead I would like a small, square or rectangular art table that can be pushed up against the wall (perhaps pulled out and extra chairs brought in for play dates that are art-focused).
I really like the first photo (but with seating on two instead of three sides) for the media side of the room, which will need to have a TV and console where video game equipment can be stored. A coffee table or tuft that can be moved out of the way is preferable to one that needs to stay in its place. Since there is carpet in the room, presumably don't need an area rug.
Need space on wall to display artwork. See, for example, wire in 5th picture. Also two storage units--one the Trofast with bins (perhaps paint the Toofast so it looks better?) and one short bookshelf for displaying finished Lego figurines and storing additional materials and toys.

Fernando likes the yellow chairs; Heidi really loves this set up for the media half of room and some sort of furniture divider (could be toy storage or seating) to delineate between the play area and the media area
