Both Blanket Flower (Gaillardia) and the Rock Purslane (Calandrinia Shining Pink™) in the background can take a beating from all day sun and reflective heat from the driveway and asphalt and they just keep blooming. Ignored by deer, light on water needs, headless of soil requirements and they require very little attention from you to do what they do best...bloom and bloom some more.

Just off the pool house, a trellised terrace opens up to a quieter view of the putting green. A stepping stone path cuts through a bioswale filled with lilies, clusters of ornamental grasses and perennials. In the distance, an existing below-grade greenhouse, renovated as part of the project program.
This beautiful English-inspired garden features Mexican bush sage, gulf muhly grass, blackfoot daisy, moonbeam coreopsis, coneflower, and rosemary. The space also features an outdoor sitting area to enjoy the lakeside views.
The border on this path is 1/8" rolled steel edging. It has to be secured in place, but it does make nice graceful curves and I prefer it because it doesn't rot over time and I think it looks better than the recycled plastic types of bender boards.
