The general look we want for pour concrete steps in front of the french doors in the patio area
A lot to like here in a 6 million dollar LA house The raised bed by the steps with white stucco. We like that Never noticed it until now but there pool deck is raised up from the yard. I think we need some version of this.
We want one but just don't see where one could ever go. Our AC unit is in the most ideal spot.
general idea for the privacy screen but I think it would look good with large dimension lumber- 2x8 or 2x10
Pavers.... Look at the settling and sand/dirt in the gaps. I don't like it.
like it
We both really like the natural grass and flower look of how those plants are laid out. It's like Topanga canyon or Santa Monica.
something I don't like- those stupid box bushes.
Good example of the kind of elevation I'd like to see implemented in some areas.
Really like this pool coping. Not sure how that works with curves.
Very cool :)
This rear wall feature is similar to something we would like to do behind the pool to add design and visual interest. There are 5 queen palms spaced out 20' on center from each other. My vision is to build a privacy screen 40' long x 8-9' out of cedar stain it dark 2-3' behind the palms. Behind that can be storage for patio furniture/umbrellas, grill equipment, gas tank, pool chemicals and cleaning equipment. Some simple concrete pavers and rock the area for low maintenance. When you look at the paver layout it is just a long run with nothing breaking it up. I'd like to have some beds/planters jut out to give it flow and create some more natural seating or entertaining spaces. There is a pergola there now that I built when I first got here. We do not want it to stay and would like to build a larger one at the front of the pool (being where the steps and sun-shelf are) at some point. This would tie into the path from the gate.
nice example of a path In our case on the side of the house it will be higher than the yard and it would be nice to the have edging corten. Then this path could shed water to the yard and be blown off easily for maintenance.
We want to create a path like this from the gate running along side the house out to the pool area. Between the path and the house plant agave, cord grass, lavender, etc. Maybe use corten edging to add terrace effect.
Like the size of the concrete slabs
like the size of the poured concrete. Can't imagine that is precast. Also really like the smaller gravel in between. The mexican beach rock is expensive so doesn't make sense to use it everywhere. The succulents are nice but they used mulch- should have used a contrasting gravel.
like the concrete planters
Again like the mexican beach rock Corten planter Don't like the mulch
We like the modern pool coping and the use of larger tile pavers around the pool vs the tumbled tremron pavers.
We like the Mexican beach rock
We generally like cord grass for the layering and also the lavender or lavender like plant closer to the side walk
Kangaroo paws. The height they add is always so nice.
