Canal Point home
I like the steps in this staircase but would it be too expensive to craft?
Love the lighting above the countertop.
Funky design and there is something about this design which appeals. Would the roof and the lack of slope deny shade from the sun?
Shower doors are nice.
Shower alcoves appeal but they don't need to be so tall to accommodate shower gel, shampoo etc.
This looks like a funky aluminium effect wall but maybe my eyes are deceiving me. Nice overall industrial feel which is unusual is what appeals.
Cool looking wall with piping.
I would be open-minded about having an upside-down house so that we can take advantage of the breezes and the views from the living spaces which is where we would spend most of our time.
I like these switches/sockets which are on display as part of the wall feature.
Or maybe a window seat in another nook should there be one?
My girls love reading so one option (depending on bedroom layout and window/door placement) is a simple window seat.
Cool external shower and hosepipe idea.
Nice roof style with the wall in the middle as a space divider.
Cluttered but it's nice to break up room divisions with wood trims if necessary according to the layout and the roof shape.
Interesting internal roof shape.
Nice door style.
Laundry room to include some hanging space to dry clothes.
Compact laundry room with sink required.
Breezeways were an important part of the Now or Never design so, to the extent possible (as I appreciate a pavilion home is costly and more extensive), could we think about breezeways within the design to capture as much of the much-needed breeze as possible?
Bedroom 2 would need to accommodate 2 x 3/4 beds or, better still, 2 x double beds for my 2 daughters to share.
I like this seaside style door.
I love this roof but I think it would quickly fade, decade and die in a Cayman setting. It gives you a flavour though of what captures my attention.
Depending on the style of home selected, the underside of the roof overhangs could be in a white-washed colour which would suit a beach style home.
I would want hurricane proof doors to be able to open up to the views. At Now or Never, there was enough space for sliding doors which also tilted. I appreciate this house will be much smaller so to be discussed but it makes sense to capitalise on the views albeit not turn the home into a greenhouse. It would be good if doors could be incorporated in the all-in-one great room which provided this type of vista.
A compact walk-in wardrobe for the master bedroom space would be good if this could be accommodated. And possibly also for the other bedrooms rather than the conventional 2 door style to access a closet.
Lap pool - this is simple and sleek.
The trough idea for a sink is pretty cool. I like things which are quirky and different.
I like the idea of having some funky sinks which is what I had at Now or Never. Not this one especially but it would be good to incorporate some individuality into the design. I can send you images of some sinks used at Now or Never.
I would definitely like to incorporate inserts into shower wall spaces. Probably, we will not include a bath in the house. Just 2 showers. One for the master bedroom space and the other shower for the 2 other bedroom spaces.
And another although I am reluctant to include so many high windows which can't be cleaned and which means more sunlight gets in which means the house is more expensive to operate.
Another industrial style image which appeals. Definitely include space for seating on stools at a kitchen countertop. This would be the heart of our house activity.
An industrial look is also an option. This image has not quite hit the spot but I am open to an industrial and basic look.
This outdoor dining space flows naturally from the main part of the house.
Definitely would like open-plan kitchen, dining and living space and I will send you images of the space at Now or Never.
Also a good work station nook.
Thought needs to be given as to whether we build a house on stilts - good for hurricane belt homes as well as undercover parking.
I do want to incorporate some covered outdoor dining / seating space into the design. Query whether this should be as an extension to the house or in a separate structure?
I had a concrete kitchen countertop at Now or Never (Cayman house) and it was lovely - had an earthy and solid feel. I can send you separate photo images of the interior of Now or Never to give you an idea of my taste.
Useful small office space maximising on the wall space (though I hate this style of cabinetry) - just showing you this image by way of concept.
The structure above the open patio at the top of the house has caught my eye - always good to get some shade from the suns rays!
I like the sloping roof detail above/either side of the window.
Integrated shelving is a good use of space.
I like the ceiling detail.
I think this is the same as the pool I just saved to my Ideabook but from a different angle.
A bookcase/room space divider using galvanised steel with wooden shelving would be a nice feature. It would also be an economical to introduce a simple design feature which adds interest and creativity to a room.
