2018 ideabook
something about this layout I like, speaking function ....... I can imagine guests being able to pull up a chair along the right side, which in our house, would be between the sink/cooktop and the ocean, so there would be a few feet for them to walk to a stool. At the far end would be a little area where I could have either cook books or a monitor so I can search recipes or watch hockey for a few minutes while I'm waiting for a pot to boil. And somehow a pantry fits in there.
this is an example of something I don't care for.....thinking about the separation of areas by using different ceiling features, there is no distinction between the kitchen and the eating area, it's too open, I'd like the ceiling in the kitchen to be different than the ceiling in the rest of the space
the idea of having a deck that has some kind of blind that you can raise or lower depending on conditions seems to make sense to me.....again, this isn't the modern style we like, but in terms of function, I am imagining whatever solution we find to our problem with the hot sun will involve some kind of screening that is variable depending on conditions
this is another kind of covered deck, I really don't know what the best way to do it is...this one is a permanent fixed option....like a roof that is what it is, it isn't possible to 'change' it during different seasons , like you could if you had a curtain or canopy, for instance.....I don't know which is best
I just love being able to be outside on a hot day without getting burned to a crisp, being comfortable is what we're into
steel curtain
floor sink for filling buckets and washing a dog
