big slider windows, living space flipped to back of house...
in terms of interior decor - the finishes could be plain and simple - however you could form a strong accent colour to a focus wall...
we can think about increased head height if we are extending your house...
when we are creating new spaces we might consider a new focus or feature wall...
we should think about how you want to use the space - you might flip the main living space to the new area for instance...
we can look to design the features and furnishings of the entire space we create so that everything holds together as one...
big sliding panel window feature...
when thinking about the ceilings we can add detail which plays with height and light... this is an example of a recessed ceiling detail...
this is an example of 'big picture window sliders'...
this is a good example of a column within the main wall - the glazing is also partially restricted from floor to ceiling height and therefore accommodates a bench seat... all things to think about when creating a new external wall feature...
glu-lams - plywood finish - window seats...
exposed timber trusses...
exposed structure is also something to consider - new beams and columns can be hidden in walls and ceilings or expressed...
completely different stair design to what you have at the moment for discussion purposes...
Remember that your existing stair can be completely reconfigured or 're-faced'... this makes sense if it's location is opened to a main space by removing a wall...
open concept - relatively tight space, open structure however
