Something simple like this L-shaped desk could work if the "return" is long enough to write on. This is propped to look simple and elegant. I would need a drawer for pencils, calculator, paper etc. And remember the side nearest a wall should have the laptop and monitors to minimize cord management issues. Would also need to add a small hanging file piece … perhaps with printer on top.
- Simple writing desk - Double pedestal desk holds 2 monitors with docking station for laptop - Credenza or simple table against wall for printer (?)
Example of bar stool seating separate from center island. Suppose it could work if we updated the kitchen look and feel. Enlarged the windows, etc.?
First floor deck concept. Add a built-in grill (anything else?)
First floor deck with roof. Will we have enough space for casual seating for 2-4 people (less than is shown) at one end plus dining for 6 with a small summer kitchen at other end?
Simple deck with a roof. Pros and cons?
First floor deck with no roof. We would add small summer kitchen, dining for six (?) and casual seating for quick, everyday use … 2-4 people max. Mainly Paula and me.
Roof deck in Truro.
Roof deck above new master? Like the open, relaxed, airy feel and expansive views. Would people walk upstairs carrying drinks and apps etc. to use this space? Instead of patio or first floor deck?
Pros and cons of having a roof over deck? Will it make the space feel too tight?
Our deck is primarily for outdoor dining with modest summer kitchen. Plus casual seating for Paula and me for day to day use. Pros and cons of having the deck covered (but not enclosed)? Possible given roof height?
Built-in gas grill. How much more of a summer kitchen do we need? Refrigerator and sink?
Replace big desk with a sleeker writing table. Computer monitors on work space behind chair. Expansive views. Need more of a cozy den/library feel.
Convert the 4x6 closet in great room into a clever storage/work space for Paula? Add a bulletin board? She would probably sit and pay bills at kitchen island if we can get the space to work.
Love the windows. Replace desk and chair with over-sized loveseat and ottoman and this starts to feel like the master bedroom reading area.
Writing table in front and computer/monitor table behind. With some built-in bookcases and modest file storage. Also need a printer and television.
