The Shrift Family
As far as paint colors… I like using your new pillow cover as inspiration! This incorporates some more neutral “cool” tones that will still work with your couch and wall color, but definitely add an updated feel. I’ve attached some of the best Sherwin Williams colors in those tones in a picture. It would add great depth and contrast to paint the back of your family room cabinets one of these! I will still be working on some ideas for the brick and fireplace update.
I will have to suggest considering a yellow/khaki tone for the boys’ rooms. Yellow is really tough to find one that isn’t canary/vanilla/or too feminine or nursery-ish. Going with a very light yellow is the safest bet. But I will show you some examples of a more khaki tone that complements very well with navy, red, and is neutral!
Please feel free to comment and add anything you like:)
I'm probably going a bit crazy with the decal ideas, but so fun, and easy to remove if they tire of it!
Idea for wall behind Jack's desk. Is there a border that looks like grass for along the floorboard?
On the other hand, J got really excited about this decal set! He loves little jungle and animal things, although I don't want him to have a room he will outgrow in a couple of years. Incorporating decals of some kind might be a good temporary solution if the background paint he can grow into.
This is by no means to scale since I was just doing a quick sketch. And the barn door was just something fun to throw in! I actually think built in drawers would be best on the lower portion and most functional, but cubbies with totes are way less expensive. The closet on the left could be a standard door with rod for your hanging coats!
Like teal for wall behind bookshelves...
