Jarosz - Outdoor Walkways and Paths
Like this walkway because it seems like it would fit the geometry of our yard. A walkway path running parallel to the fence line, leading to a seating area and then continuing the path (in foreground) to run along back towards the house along another fence line, all bordered by planting beds. The dining area in the center inspires an idea of another seating area in the center of the pathway paralleling the fence whereby the pathway could be widened to accommodate some seating to take advantage of the sight lines from our fence line down into the canyon below our house. Like the plants here as well although not the green bushes/hedges.
Meandering path allowing for various widths of planting beds along the fence line. Don't like the plants here or color of the path material.
Like the idea of a path leading to a seating area which looks more natural. This picture also depicts a path of crushed rock bordering the turf area with a more asymmetrical, more natural looking material for the seating area vice a uniformed paved area.
I like the transition of pavers to crushed rock granite with river rock to border the plant beds. However, would choose a different color, more matching the color scheme of the house. Bern is not a fan of the rough, asymmetrical rocks/stones bordering the path. Probably looking for something more uniform and polished.
Without a distinct border, I'm against crushed rock as a pathway off a paved patio for risk of rocks spewing everywhere. However, this concept shows a use of two different materials as one moves farther away from the more finished, polished look of the house. Would also like the colors to blend more if we transition between materials.
Like the curvature of the path, but too many plants too close together for my liking. Would like a more distinct border.
Example of the path bordering both turf and planting beds. Lines are too straight for my liking.
Would look for much more variation, interesting, colorful plants in these beds. But, like the idea of the natural material - DG - as a path between a fence line planting bed and then turf towards the middle of the yard.
Too many straight lines and right angles, but liked the distinction between border and path and how they separate various planting beds and seemingly widen out for a seating area.
Liked the look of going from a more finished paver to a less polished walkway, although the bark/much bed makes the DG path look wider and the overall look is too austere.
Line the decomposed granite with pavers, mulch planting beds or turf
Walkway of one material leading to a sitting area of another material bordered on either side.
Appears as a decent example of a side pathway of crushed rock transitioning to DG along the side of house/fence, although it's acknowledged we don't have the same degree of width as depicted here. I like the curvature allowing for a wider planting bed as we extend out along the vinyl fence from the outer edge of the CA room.
Not looking for more than one area of turf, but like the idea of a path bordering the turf. Maybe DG.
Like the DG pathway bordered by mulched planter area. Like the spread of plants as well and the color against the far, back wall.
Like the concept of DG, although this seems looser, grainier and grittier than what I'd want. Would need a more distinct border other than bender board. Plants look well grown in with risk of turning into an entanglement which I do not want.
This depicts a vision I have of a meandering walkway bordering the turf area in the center with a planter area along the tubular fence or the vinyl fence.
Another good example of a walkway bordered by turf and planter areas. Don't care for the plants here though.
Is this DG? Seems more compacted and finished; less gritty. Could be a linear path out to the outer corner of the yard, seating area.
Perhaps this crushed rock/gravel for the side walkways.
Like the path with a sitting area - perhaps for the center of a walkway paralleling the tubular fence - with turf bordering one edge of the walkway with a plant bed bordering the other edge. Like the spacing of the plants.
Like the curviness of path with combo of plant bed border and turf border. Like the mix of plants lining the path as well.
Like the curvature lay and distinct borders against the mulch plant beds. Could be paver border with DG.
Paver walkway bordered by turf on one side and planting bed on the other.
Decomposed granite path alongside turf with clean and distinct paver border separating planter bed. Needs more curves.
Like the DG bordering the turf, but not so linear.
These plants against the fence, minus the rocks. Notice piece of art on wall.
Like how the turf is bordered by the mulch planter beds and spacing of the plants.
River rock lining walkway transitioning to pavers. Don't like the circular stepping stones.
Pavers transitioning to DG path with stepping stones.
Like the walkways with the plants
