Beautifully detailed extension built from high performance Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) in Plush, Dorset.
The project brief required a simple, yet beautifully detailed modern extension to be added to the brick and flint cottage and for the original house to be renovated to meet modern living standards.
The modern extension meets the original house wall with a ‘light touch’ glass link, The extension is constructed from a highly insulated SIP panel frame and over-clad with western red cedar and a feature flint wall to reflect the original cottage construction. The roof is clad in zinc, which offers a contrast to the original house materials, whilst harmonising with the original grey roof slate tones.
