A global perspective. Though Stempi displayed a fondness for design from an early age, her first career, in her native Poland, was as a film director’s assistant. After her family immigrated to the United States, she decided to reinvent her life. She enrolled at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she graduated cum laude, and embarked on a career in interior design.A short stint working for a design firm in Japan before moving back to start her own firm in NYC helped to give her work a global sensibility. “Weaving different styles and regions into a design makes for a dynamic home that tells a story,” Stempi says.
