Stretching the limits
With a total of seven doorways and a very awkward shaped room, this kitchen needed some tricky intervention. The solution came from ‘stretching’ the wall behind the cooktop and creating a better work space between the cooktop and sink. This made for a much better work triangle while simultaneously creating and interesting display niche behind the cooktop. The backsplash continues into and through this niche and above on the bulkhead. Open shelves on the bottom of the uppers in the primary work zone and glass fronted cabinets help make the kitchen feel larger. A neutral palate and built-in appliances contribute to the sense of spaciousness
