Putney project
Our brief was to renovate and extend a house that had not been touched since the Eighties. The client wanted to create a stylish home to in which to relax during the week after a long day in the city, and also for entertaining. With little time on her hands, she wanted us to manage and decorate the project for her. The client, being a big foodie who loves to cook, wanted us to design a kitchen to suit her needs, adding a Lacanche range, which has been a real hit. The kitchen opens up on to the small garden, which we also designed for her with lollipop olive trees and box hedges. As we have kept the colours similar to those of the kitchen, the whole area feels as one in the summer, and is perfect for entertaining. The client also wanted a separate dining room with sliding doors to the kitchen so that she could shut off the cooking scene if she wanted to. We used a dining table and chairs from Julian Chichester, and covered the chairs in different fabrics to add more interest to the room.
