This room abuts the kitchen and dining rooms, and offers excellent mingling room, and width, so that the main living spaces work together well. The design challenge here was to create a stairway to the basement level without narrowing the room; glass panels were the answer.
Cream wool sofa is from Toronto's Kiosk furnishings store. The family portraits are by Canadian artist Charles Pacter (Ron's daughters and, semi hidden, Ron), and by architect and personal friend Terry Brown (son, bottom left).
The cement coffee table is by local furniture designer Julie Birchall.
