BREAKING UP A LARGE SPACE INTO DEFINED ZONES
By incorporating strong sculptural shapes Livingston created a wonderful flow between the homeowner cooks and their guests and a room that comes alive after dark. The entire kitchen was designed on a six-degree angle pattern to enhance movement and to provide a series of deeper countertops for cooking tasks. Other features are curved to soften the overall visual experience.
After the great success of the kitchen, the clients asked Steve to design the master bath, three kids baths, an extensive home office, and a second kitchen in the adjacent guest suite.
DESIGN DETAIL
The floating glass countertop actually intersects through the curved-front copper column, and fossils are incorporated into the custom concrete surfaces.
