Alderwood Landscape Architecture and ConstructionThe finished backyard resort provides the luxurious, high-end aesthetic that our client was hoping for. Using the grading to their advantage, Alderwood designers lowered the sport court so it did not interfere with the eastern Washington views.
SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + ConstructionThe project was a complete rear renovation involving a new swimming pool, patio areas, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, deck renovation, and surrounding landscape, and lighting.
The site was very challenging due to very steep slopes and a limited amount of land area to accomplish the overall goals of the project. Those were lawn areas for the kids to play as well as patio space for entertainment and a swimming pool. Due to county requirements, multiple infiltration trenches were needed to accommodate the Chesapeake Bay ordinances.

Arbordale LandscapingWe turned this pedestrian Leaside backyard upside down! We added a stone patio complete with a firepit and lounge area which is covered by giant umbrella. A custom rough hewn beam pergola was painted black to contrast the custom stainless steel shoes and connector plates and placed over the new dining area and custom buffet. The buffet has a Corten steel decorative panel behind with white plexiglass and lighting for a dramatic dining experience. Horizontal fencing surrounds the backyard and the style carries through to both gates. Natural stone steppingstones and borders add contrast and frame the different sections of the yard. Playful informal plantings give the garden a sense of whimsy. The back porch was created for barbecuing with glass railings to not disturb the view from inside the home and contains a large storage space underneath.
Fusion Landscape Design LimitedWith the maturing of the planting around the outdoor shower one can now be standing under the palm fronds while showering. This is the result that I was hoping for when this shower was designed. Just needs planter on top of opposite side with weeping plants.

Growsgreen Landscape DesignI have been working on the development of these beam screens in a few gardens including my personal garden. This iteration I really love since it helps with the one level deck out of the house not feel too large. The solution also came from a constraint of having to replace a post on the house overhang and instead of having a floating post, I decided to infill with more posts so it felt intentional. I love when constraints in a space lead to clever design solutions.
