LID LandscapesRemoving two old flagstone patios allowed us to install new, modern concrete patios. One included a trellis for a grape vine to grow up, as well as built-in bench seating around a firepit. The other had an outdoor kitchen with a grill for outdoor entertaining and a pergola overhead. Concrete paver steppers connect the two spaces and a grit path around the perimeter of the yard acts as a bike path. This project is located in Boulder, Colorado.

Simon Taylor FurnitureFor more than 30 years, Simon Taylor Furniture has been designing and making premium bespoke furniture for every room in the home - and also the garden. This Cantilever Outdoor Kitchen is made from Bianca Eclipsia quartz, a very pale grey stone with a marbled effect that has strong resistance to heat and cold; ideal for outdoor use.
The kitchen features a dramatic modern cantilever design which includes a 2.8 metre floating worksurface with no leg supports or end panels. It is attached to a bespoke slim island unit made using the same stone, which incorporates a flush-mounted BBQ, suitable for gas or coal grilling. Larger versions of the island can also incorporate stainless steel ice storage, Wi-Fi LED smart lighting, 240v outdoor sockets, a wireless speaker system and portable phone charging sockets. Simon Taylor Furniture also makes bespoke solid roof or gazebo structures, which can include 3kW ceiling mounted heaters, so that the outdoor kitchen can be used all year round.

Native Edge LandscapeThese homeowners were looking to up their hosting game by modernizing their property to create the ultimate entertainment space. A custom outdoor kitchen was added with a top of the line Delta Heat grill and a special nook for a Big Green Egg. Flagstone was added to create asymmetrical walkways throughout the yard that extended into a ring around the fire pit. Four rectangular trellises were added along the fence and shed, with an all metal pergola located at the back of the pool. This unique structure immediately draws the eye and adds a playful, artistic element to the rest of the space. The use of various sized rocks, gravel, and flagstone give a rough texture that creates a symbiosis with the metalwork. Silver Falls Dichondra creates a beautiful contrast to the rocks and can be found all over the property along with various other grasses, ferns, and agave. A large area of gravel rests on the side of the house, giving the client room to park a recreational vehicle. In front, a privacy fence was added along one of the property lines, leading into a drought resistant, eco-friendly section of yard. This fence, coupled with a giant boulder, doubles as a safety precaution in case drivers miss the turn and run into their lawn. This updated landscaping adds an effortless flow for guests to move from the front yard to the back while creating a very open, welcoming feel to all who enter.
ILT VignocchiA meandering path provides access to the front of the residence. This path is protected by weeping Hemlocks and the steppers are surrounded by thyme.
