© Wing Wong This two bedroom apartment on New York's Upper West Side underwent a gut renovation to allow continuous sight lines and views in three directions: east to Central Park, north to the George Washington Bridge, and east to the Hudson River. The master bedroom was reconfigured to create an adjacent study with two exposures. Mondrian-inspired pocket doors allow light to penetrate the apartment while also providing a private study. The project was completed in an accelerated time frame and within a strict budget.

The Ultra PEG wine rack system is ideal for small wine cellars because they don't occupy floor space. The pegs are made from brushed aluminum, and has rubber O-rings to prevent the bottles from slipping out. Each pair of rods can hold 2 bottles, with the labels facing out. Si eres un aficionado del mundo del vino, formas parte de un club vinícola o sientes pasión por las vinotecas, probablemente llegue un momento en el desees tener tu propia bodega en casa. Pero, para ello, hacen falta unas determinadas condiciones. Además, toda bodega casera tiene sus propias reglas en materia de decoración. Si estás buscando ideas para crear una cava de vinos en casa, echa un vistazo a nuestras fotos de bodegas y encuentra la inspiración que necesitas.

¿Qué debes tener en cuenta si quieres una bodega en casa?

Obviamente, el espacio es un factor determinante, pues influirá directamente en la decisión de escoger una cava de vinos o, simplemente, una nevera para vinos. También tendrá algo qué decir la habitación en cuanto a las características que esta ofrezca. Si tienes sitio, esto es lo que tienes que tener en cuenta principalmente:
    1. El tamaño de tu colección de vinos: piensa en lo que tienes ya y en cómo tienes previsto que crezca.
    2. El tipo de vino que quieres almacenar: recuerda que solo los vinos de guarda necesitan un cuidado especial. Apuesta por vinotecas pequeñas si no tienes mucho espacio, pero coleccionas vinos delicados y de valor.
    3. La temperatura de la bodega: lo ideal es que se encuentre en torno a los 15 ºC. Si la temperatura es menor, se ralentiza el envejecimiento del vino; pero, si es superior, la vida de este se acorta.
    4. La luz: la bodega debe estar a oscuras o en penumbra. Es mejor iluminar mediante bombillas incandescentes de 60 vatios o con las de bajo consumo.
    5. La humedad: lo recomendable es que de la bodega esté entre el 70 y el 75.
    6. Otros: procura que no haya vibraciones cerca, que se renueve el aire y que las botellas de vino estén lejos de productos con olores fuertes como pinturas, disolventes, etc.

¿Cómo decorar una bodega?

El principal elemento de este espacio son los botelleros. La madera es el material más utilizado para las estanterías destinadas a vinos. Sin embargo, si buscas un toque original para tu bodega en casa, siempre puedes apostar por aquellas metalizadas y, para ganar calidez, añadir elementos tradicionalmente asociados con el vino. Por ejemplo, carteles vintage de marcas conocidas, barricas o cajas de vino que, además, pueden servirte como mesas auxiliares. Independientemente de tu elección, asegúrate de que las botellas están dispuestas de manera que el vino pueda oxigenarse y recuerda reservar un armario o estante para los accesorios que utilizas más frecuentemente, como el sacacorchos o el decantador.
