Impact bahama shutters are both decorative and protective from the sun and hurricanes. Made from extruded aluminum and with a powder coated paint finish + 250 color choices, these shutters add long-term beauty and protection for window openings.
Roll-a-way bahama shutters are available in a FBC and Miami-Dade impact rated version and also a lighter duty non-impact "Louver-lite" version-still with 250 color choices. These all-aluminum shutters are more expensive than wood or plastic shutters, but will last with almost zero maintenance.
Telescoping arms hold the louvered panel at the desired angle. Most bahama shutters can be operated from the inside through open double or single hung windows. Casement windows are a problem, however with bahama shutters. When lowered, from the inside or exterior (customer's choice) a pin is slid left and right into the telescoping arm brackets to lock the shutter into place.
This beautiful custom home built by Martin & Malkemus with custom touches by Northshore Millwork was designed by the homeowner with a mixture of a Mediterranean and resort feel. The Spanish Cedar bahama shutters and motorized gate contrast well to the light colored stucco on this home's exterior. This home is a real show stopper with unusual elements throughout including a sleeping porch and two wine rooms!
A common question that we are asked is how to handle sun and privacy issues on porch areas. Our Custom Bahama style shutters work beautifully in this application. We custom build and install them ourselves. This project is located in Greenville, South Carolina.
Bahama Shutters enhance the tropical look of your home while offering everyday use and protection. While still allowing a cool coastal breeze, the Bahama Shutter provides shading protection from the sun. The added privacy benefit of Bahama Shutters eliminates the need for interior window blinds or shutters, while still allowing in light and air flow in the closed position. ventanas mallorquinas - alattaro
