nice layout as well as color blocking - could add a back to the island to obscure the mess (instead of stools). GW: color blocks are trendy now, that's what I tried to mean with Memphis style but we would prefer softer tones. This kitchen looks a bit too sharp and contemporary don't you think? Would you add a back all along the island, in my mind I feel like that back/obstruction should start from a wall reason why I think of U shape? SY: yes, I see what you mean by stark. I propose we take our cue for the colorful bits from the other colors throughout the house. I think you could do the island obstruction with an island, U or galley, equally effectively. GW: OK that works so let's keep the U plan for now and agreed on colors. SY: note that we have three options that all have pros and cons - galley, U, and L/island. Will keep working on them and get any that work in front of you for consideration.
a pop of color in the cabinetry? JM: I like it. EW: I fear we will tire of whatever color we pick... SY: well, you can do it in your chairs - like that blue-gray scheme 3 images down with the red stools. EW: agreed (color in "accessories")
