Drying rack - not just for clothes but for herbs too! Also remember to have decent ventilation. I like this set up for a laundry/mudroom. Cubby spaces, hanging space for drying/ironing & storage. Should include a cabinet for iron, board & dustpan & bucket. Should contain wrapping station inside a cupboard & desk to stand/sit at. Should also contain ample shoe storage as well as storage for sports gear. Also remember to have decent ventilation. Open bottoms instead of drawers in cubbies to prevent scuff marks from shoes. A water bubbler in the mudroom/laundry after arriving home seems just the ticket. Mudroom should be located off the garage so not to carry dirt throughout the house. As a laundry for rainy days, clothes dry through the movement of air. To reduce the need for an energy sucking dryer, it makes perfect sense to have a fan paired with good ventilation in the laundry/mud room so clothes that are hung on a pulley system will dry a lot quicker. Cubby seat to have cushioned seating along with open cubby holes along the bottom to prevent scuff marks from shoes. A shower & toilet should be incorporated in the laundry/mudroom too. You'll want to get rid of the moisture in the air, so install a dehumidifier or an exhaust fan ducted to the exterior.
