Australian Houzzer? Say hi!

Hi there, I'm Luke, the new Community Manager for Houzz Australia.
The Australian Houzz office is up and running and we're working hard to bring our local users more Aussie content among all the great global photos and ideabooks.

Our AU team will all say hello below — so, if you're a regular Houzzer or a professional, consider this thread a chance to say hi to us and if you can, tell us about your own home. Is it a country style cottage, modern unit, Victorian terrace?

I'm just moving into a 1920 Federation bungalow. (Can't wait to renovate!)

      Hi houzzers
      Have just added a deck, roofed, but open on three sides. Live on a farm with all its attendant critters, flies etc and want some opinions on best paint finish for ceiling, that can be washed occasionally

      Hi fellow houzers, I've always had a passion for large houses/mansions. To begin with I liked any mansion but now I have absolutely and completely fallen for old mansions (federation, Queen Anne, Victorian to name a few) that are atleast 100 years old. I have many favourites here in Melbourne but the most adored is the gables mansion in Malvern east (image 1). My dream mansion is to build a mansion similar to Illawarra mansion in toorak (image 2) but have windows and verandah like the gables, a large square corner angled bay window, to the left, 6 single level turrets on the first floor across the front, a 7 sided 3 storey tower half way down the left side, twin 2 storey bay window on the right side, a conservatory at the back joining onto a verandah. The interior would be Clive Christian style across 4 levels. To me that is the perfect house..
