Flooring options

I am in the midst of planning a kitchen reno. There is tile in the kitchen and breakfast areas. Adjacent rooms are honey-toned bamboo. Going to do cream or white cabinets, but cannot decide to lay new tile or change all of the areas to a wood or engineered hardwood. Only kitchen and family room are open concept, but other room floors butt up to kitchen floor.

    Are you saying you are considering replacing the bamboo as well as the tile?


    If the bamboo is in good shape, I would consider keeping it. If you hate it and have an extra $12-$15/sf to spend, then go for a complete flooring renovation.


    Photos would be great. Some spaces lend themselves to a complete change whereas other spaces allow separate flooring for each space.
