fireplace advice on restoring

Hi we’re looking for some advice and tips on how we restore our lovely fireplaces. Several
Of them have parts missing and one has had the insert painted in black paint. Any help on places we can contact to help restore them? We need insets, hearts and the drawers. Thanks all

    Hello,

    Good morning Ivonne,

We are a Microcement company in North London.

We have renovated several Fireplaces with Microcement.

    Please find some pictures attached.

If you are interested you can send an email to sales@deoracement.com my name is Sandra and I will be happy to send you prices, color chart, etc ...

We could for example apply the Fireplace in Microcemento Blanco Hueso with trowel effects that make it look like marble.

    It's an idea.

A good starting point is photos and plenty of measurements followed by a trawl of all the architectural salvage merchants you can find. Don’t forget eBay either.

Hi Yvonne, Great looking fireplaces, I am not sure where you are based but you could try https://www.houzz.co.uk/pro/wardantiquefireplaces/ward-antique-fireplaces http://www.wardantiquefireplaces.co.uk/ they are very knowledgeable and should be able to help with any missing parts.

I've always used local Salvage Companies and Ebay for whole fireplaces, inserts and various parts. If you know the sizes that you want, then you can usually find what you want. We're lucky here we've got quite a few salvage yards near us.

In my opinion you look for a local fireplace specialist who can source replacement baskets and sell you a new insert and hearth where you need them. In my opinion the best result is achieved by taking off your existing surround, put down a new hearth (often taller than the originals which is partly why the fire surround has to come out), adding a new fire insert where the original is lost and then replacing the fire surround.
