Overwhelmed by Kitchen Cabinet Options

We're planning to remodel our kitchen and struggling to decide between two kitchen cabinet companies, Shenandoah and Diamond both found at Lowes. This is not going to be our dream kitchen as the neighborhood values can't supportive but we want to be happy with it. We met with a consultant there who said there was little difference between the two except one uses water based paint vs. oil, and has less color options. All kitchen cabinet companies seem to have terrible online reviews so that hasn't helped. We're also not certain about whether we should upgrade to the all plywood construction. Thanks for the feedback.

    In regards to the all plywood construction option, it is important to some homeowners putting in their dream kitchen, but many homeowners find that melamine is more than suitable for their needs. It can also be worth looking into the warranty on the cabinets, because in most cases the warranty is the same for plywood or melamine so you may find it isn't worth the extra cost in this scenario where you don't plan to stay in the home. Depending where you live it can be more common to have plywood or more common to have melamine. For example, where we're located in Canada, most homeowners choose melamine and are thrilled with the final product. I hope you won't continue to feel overwhelmed, there are a lot of choices but a kitchen designer will be able to help you narrow down based on your needs and preferences.
