Cool Blue Bathroom

We enlarged this bathroom for an in-law suite. To make the walk-in shower with no curb, we had to demolish and repour the concrete slab. We loved the owner's request to use "blingy" tiles and cool blue hues for this home on the lake. They treat their parents right!

(Sorry the before photos were so tight because the bathroom was so small!)

    Beautiful bath! BUT...my understanding of code is the shower door must swing out from the stall so as not to "trap" an incapacitated person within it. That would be a huge concern for me.

    Astute observation! The in-swinging door looked better for the photo but the hinges are actually bi-swinging hardware. That is a big benefit of having in-house architects and certified interior designers who know the code as well as you!

    Nice job, though I question keeping a towel rack next to the toilet. It made no sense to have a towel before and even less sense after with an entire towel bar. You redid the entire bathroom. Was there no better place?

    We agree that the location of a towel rack is important, especially with an expansive glass enclosure like this one. That is why we specified that the shower door handle is a horizontal bar for hanging towels on either side of the door. But for this photo, that towel was moved next to the toilet (which is actually a grab bar installed at ADA height). The owners were happy with this solution.

    Thanks for clarifying that the towel on the grab bar was for the photo. If you have a chance to show off this job again,. I strongly suggest removing the towel altogether from the photo. It's an out-of-place eyesore and detracts from the nice job you did.
