Major room makeover

I just bought a new summer house and I want to decorate this room for my 15yr old daughter but I have no idea where to begin. I want to do a nautical theme. I also want to incorporate sail boats because she loves racing boats. Any ideas?

hace 7 añosI would paint the whole room either BM quiet moments or Sea Salt. Love the bedding in pics, so fresh looking. Add artwork re sailing ships etc, nice area rug half way under bed

hace 7 añosPaint the walls white is a good start like everyone said. I would take it a step further and white wash the paneling. Make it look like old boat shed. Hang old shutters painted blue around the window, use sheer panels to continue to let the light in. Use crates for storage on walls and stack on floor. Maybe hang canvas in a corner like a sail for a reading nook. I like to go all out in a kids room-they love it! Nautical flags represent letters I think you could spell out her name...I could go on

hace 7 añosAre those florescent bulbs on the ceiling? Those must go and add a ceiling fan with no light and use table/floor lamps for lighting.
