Floating shelves

I would like to make floating shelves with steel brackets that can support the weight of a small microwave. Any suggestions for this DIY projects is greatly appreciated. I've attached a photo from Houzz of exactly I'd like to achieve.

    IKEA and other shops like this produce shelves like this in all sorts of colours. You basically have a metal U that you drill into the wall leaving the two spokes out. The shelf is a casing that is hollow on the inside. You slip this over the U bracket. In the US with most drywall you might need to use butterfly fixings(?). In Europe we use a jackhammer and plugs + screw.

      I do this kind of shelf. It's not rocket science ASVInteriors advise is excellent.

      Ikea shelving and aluminum brackets aren't suitable for this project. I was hoping for a more professional solution from the Houzz community. Cheers everyone!

      For those who care to know... After hours and hours of research I found these steel brackets online to use with custom built floating shelves.
