Gone with the old, in with the new kitchen

We Make It Our Home

We purchased this house in June 2014. The kitchen hasn't been updated since 1960s. We took on a major renovation on the house. My favorite part was the transformation of kitchen.

      i like the overall style of the kitchen it is modern and also beautiful, the way you blended the countertops to the cabinets and the tile backsplash is nice way to make a modern kitchen. website

      Thank you janiehburton for the compliment! I totally agree with you, a custom made roman shade will fit better with this design and can tie everything together. I wanted to put something on for the purpose of pictures but now I am looking around to purchase a nice fabric for a custom made roman shade.

      I like everything about this, unbelievable what can be done, most people stay with the same basic layout, just transforming cabinets and updating appliances, but this is awesome

      Very nice! The ugliest spaces often make the best transformations. I like your hood choice over the island, a minimalist approach works well to help preserve views and avoid a clunky look. You did a great job!

      Thank you everyone for your lovely compliments. I agree with Kustom Home Desig when it comes to renovation: The uglier the kitchen, the better.

      The size of the kitchen is 9.2' by 13'.

      The hood is purchased on amazon.

      Great transformation. Love all the choices we debated on white however we went with dark stain. We never had white and in our culture we do lots of spicy cooking hence was afraid of it not staying white.

      None the less I love a white clean kitchen. I posted mine in a post. Let me know your thoughts.

      Thanks isamuel71, I remember your post. In fact,I think I commented on your post. Great transformation. I love the idea of having a table with a bench for the eat in kitchen area. It feels very comfortable and homey. I am determined to have one in our next house project if I have a square footage for eat in kitchen.

      I like your choice of appliances, sink and faucet. We chose a similar sink faucet for our new project.

      The only thing I might have done differently in your kitchen remodel perhaps would be the use of a butcher block countertop for the center island entirely. It seems the purpose of it would be for food preparation and it will also add another texture in the kitchen.

      We make it our home - good tip on the butcher block. However the quartz we purchased had to be 2 slabs as we would be short with one so we just wanted to minimize waste.

      We even had extra for the laundry room .

      Nice job. I like the mix of white and natural wood cabinets. Excellent choice of cabinet hardware as well.

      What a wonderful transformation! It reminds me of an old movie... "Back to the Future". Catapulted fifty years into the future from the sixties, not to mention with an excellent sense of design. Congratulations.
