Ventless fireplace here?

My husband and I are thinking of adding a ventless fireplace under my tv. Have always wanted one and we are now thinking it could work here. Tell me your thoughts.

    I realize the scale is slightly off but here is a photo of one that we have done with tile and white wood trim work and the TV above. I think this is a great idea for the space you are showing. Question? Is the room large enough that with a fireplace sticking into that space that it will not feel tight?

      We have a gas one. The previous owners had it built in but never hooked up the gas. We hooked it up and love it. We mainly did this because of the area that we live in has had several ice storms in the past and this home is total electric. Just wanted to make sure we could stay in our home.

      Well that is what we are trying to research. Right now the console unit we have there bumps out 18 inches. Yours looks beautiful!

      I would save the fireplace for a more prominent wall where it could be more of a focal point.

      The dimensions on our firebox is 31 inches wide by 18 inches deep. We have a set of 18 inch firelogs in it. Thought this might help with your decision.

      Check your local regulations. Ventless is illegal in some areas.

      My Mother has an electric fireplace, I am really impressed with how real it looks and the amount of heat it puts out.
