What is the material used for the decking around the pool?

Is this some kind of wood product, concrete, tile? Love the look!

    Most tropical hardwoods will weather to this silver-gray color (Ipe, Teak, Dinizia, Mahogany, Purple Heart, Cumaru, etc).

    If you are interested in an FSC reclaimed/recycled wood option consider reclaimed Dinizia - it is recycled from a source in the midwest US. It is super-dense and durable and and will eventually weather to a soft silver-gray. We also have the silver-gray weathered reclaimed wood available in siding.

      Ipe is a brazilian redwood. It's expensive because it's harvested sustainably (they plant as much as they cut down). It's very dense, so it won't cup as much as other woods, and while you can seal it to maintain it's "redwood" appearance, left unfinished, it will turn into this awesome silvery color.

      Yes, Ipe is also known as Brazilian Walnut, Lapacho and "Epay". While the color change occurs if it is untreated it can be brought back even after a very long time. Ipe vs Other Hardwoods.

      This wood is highly recommended for outdoor applications as it can have an untreated outdoor life of over 75 years.

      Are these deck tiles or is this an Ipe deck that is built at ground level? Do you worry about ventilation?
