Living kitchen dining makeover

I love reading the discussion posts on Houzz and hope I receive some suggestions for our area. I am ready now to update this space with new kitchen cupboards and bench tops and stove and paint right through. (I would love to make the kitchen more accessible from the dining area but don't think our budget will stretch that far!). I am thinking of painting lexicon quarter right through for a fresh white look with maybe a feature wall behind the tv. I would love any ideas on kitchen colours, wall colours, feature colours, furniture placement, decor etc. All of the existing furniture will go as we are currently minding it for our son so looking forward to some new purchases. Any help at all will be much appreciated thankyou.

hace 7 añosWith your floor tiles being a warm terracotta colour, a warm white rather than a cool white like lexicon would be a better match.katiefur
Autor originalhace 7 añosThanks for your replies. I don't favour any particular style, I'm afraid I can see good things in all styles, but I love the colours of Morocca and Mexico and also love Balinese. I thought that with white walls I could bring plenty of colour into furnishings etc. I really like white white, am not fond of creamy whites at all. If anyone can suggest a colour I will get a sample pot and try it. I know the floor tiles restrict colour choices but they will have to stay unfortunately. We live in the sub tropics so would like that reflected, also love indoor plants. I love sleek modern kitchens with plenty of drawers however ours is a bit boxed in to make look sleek, am considering getting an upright stove so where the oven is could become more bench space. The dining room needs to cater to 8 minimum but am looking out for a nice extension table for there.dohraime
hace 7 añosTake a look at the popular Dulux Natural White. Slightly warm without being creamy. Whisper White might be worth a look also.

hace 7 añosI don't like lexicon as has blue tinge and starkish but try a sample pot. Also try natural white as has grey tinge and some of dulux cooler whites are lovely white exchange half Casper
Sorry only know dulux colours but definitely white as options for your furnishingsgirlguides
hace 7 añosIf you use your oven a lot don't get upright stove too much bending and you have got bench space. I have induction cooktop and great and can use as bench space as don't retain heatBuywood Furniture
hace 7 añosHi Kate!
How about utilizing that nicely sun-lit wall in the living room to create a built in entertainment unit/storage area such as the attached photos? You could then tie in a timber kitchen top with the timber from the entertainment unit. Keeping a warm tinge to the paint (warm white?) eventually chosen will help make the entire space feel connected too.

Autor originalhace 7 añosThank you all for your feedback, tomorrow I will get a sample of natural white paint to try. Buywood Furniture, thanks for your input, I do like the look you've posted for that wall, I would like an approximate quote for that setup, will email you.
