Kitchen colour design tips

Hi everyone we are deciding on kitchen colours and i was wondering if anyone had any tips. We really like the idea of using two colours of cabinetry, but are unsure how to do it. the kitchen is the right back wall in the photo.

all the walls in the house are going to be white, to keep it very simple, clean and modern. There are no handles or details on cupboards. floor is polished concrete, with an industrial look. We have chosen our bench top already as our budget limited us to what we could choose from.

we want to use black and white and our appliances are stainless. overhead bulkhead will be painted white also. Backsplash will probably be white Does anyone have any ideas on what cabinets could be black and which ones white. these are designs that i really like the idea of, using different coloured cabinets for the island or high cabinets, just unsure of exactly how to execute it to suit our design. any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your layout for you kitchen looks really good and would fit well with the mixture of black and white cabinetry. With the lament bench top, we would suggest melamine (entry level cabinetry) or acrylic bench top, which can come in high gloss feature or matt. The matt surface would go lovely with your choice of bench top, and acrylic is also a affordable cabinetry material.

Below are some examples of how Reno4u has incorporated both black and white cabinetry together, without making it to dominantly dark. We feel as if these examples would be perfect for your layout, and depending on if you want more black cabinetry or white you can go either way.

This design above is an example with more black than white, can be made matt or gloss with different handles/splash back and wallpaper.

With a u shaped kitchen similar to yours, however from the pictures you provided your style may include different design below the island bench.

Another kitchen designed by us which shows more white than black, with a bar built in which may suit your design better.

Hello Laura, Great idea having two colours for your cabinetry. One idea is to have overhead/tall cabinets one colour and base cabinets another colour, like this:

This is a kitchen for a commercial building, but it give you the idea and is a similar layout to yours.

I know you're thinking of a white splashback, but this is what a black splashback with white cabinetry can look like, just for ideas:

Una buena opción podría ser jugar con muebles giratorios que sirvan para una orientación u otra. Existen buenas opciones por ejemplo para colocar un smart tv. Asi se aprovecha el espacio al máximo y además sirve de separacion perfecta de ambientes. La idea de adaptar un elemento para distintas ocasiones, ya sea para cocinar o estar recostado en la cama viendo la tevé, transforma un ambiente pequeño en uno versátil y muy empático. Tener en cuenta los colores, la combinacion que nuestran aquí es exquisita, es elegante y al mismo tiempo fresca, algo dificil de lograr! Habitat nunca defrauda, son ideales para todo, por algo son mis favoritos! Saludos!

¡Hola! ¡Esa cocina tiene pinta de quedar preciosa una vez esté terminada! Nosotros nos inclinaríamos hacia el color blanco. Si todavía sigues teniendo el color gris en mente, una encimera de cuarzo color blanco con veta gris, como bien ha dicho Paloma Fer Interiorismo, quedaría perfecta. Muchas gracias por contestarme a las dos, si me decanto por el agua marina mejor ké el gris, no, no voy a poner nada en esa pared, porque, es ké no Le puedo hacer una foto a la habitación entera, porque la cocina está metida, dentro del salón y con el sofá pues nos pasamos un pokitin de grande y se come el salón y los muebles de la cocina son enteros hasta el techo, para ké me crupier an más cosas y el mueble de TV me lo están haciendo a medida y lo ké puedo lo pongo hasta el techo, porque el espacio no me sobra, así ké dejando esa pared sin nada, es como ké kita la pesadez...

Thankyou Panelform, we've been thinking long and hard about this aspect of our build as i was a chef for 7 years pre kids. Now we have kids I spend all of my time in the kitchen at home!

We are really leaning towards matte black cabinets and draws on the back wall and maybe painting the bulkhead the same matte black to help define the kitchen space. I was then wanting to go for gloss white cabinets and draws on the island bench. I really wanted to play with ply for a splashback, as we have a void behind our bench due to a very deep fridge, so i wanted to have shelves with panels like these, but made of ply. problem is it cant go behind the stove as it wont meet standards because its flammable. So hoping we can use white glass behind the stove, then white panels to cover shelves (would use glass the whole way, but its very expensive!)

Im worried mixing colours will be too "out there" or strange. There are so many decisions with a house build and to be honest its getting very over whelming. I am usually very set on my decisions, but my head seems to be going around in circles!
